Titanfall 2 will be released within three weeks of Battlefield 1, Electronic Arts has announced.
Speaking at the 2016 Bank of America Merill Lynch Global Technology Conference, the publishing giant’s CFO, Blake Jorgensen, didn’t however specify if the game will hit stores three weeks before or after the upcoming shooter.
Previously, EA has said that the game will hit stores during the company’s Q3 financial year, which spans October 1 – December 31, 2016. Battlefield 1 is due to hit stores on October 21.
Despite the fact both games will be released in close proximity to Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, EA has said that it isn’t too worried about the competition from Activision’s blockbuster shooter.
Titanfall 2 brings Respawn’s mech-shooter franchise to PS4 for the first time
The original Titanfall was released for the Xbox One in March 2014 and to date remains one of the biggest exclusives for Microsoft’s home console. However, the sequel will arrive on PlayStation 4 as well, bringing the franchise to a Sony console for the first time.
Not much is known about the game at present, although we can expect to find out more details on the hotly anticipated sequel at E3 later this month.
Titanfall sees gamers hopping into the boots of foot soldier pilots who are able to command massive, mech-style exoskeletons. Set from a first-person perspective, the game takes place on war-battered colonies at the Frontier fringe of space exploration, eschews a traditional offline campaign in favour of an online-based adventure.
