Saber Interactive’s Turok Origins has been doing the rounds at GameCom 2025 for press to get their hands-on, and one interesting tidbit that has been reported by GameSpot is that the game can be played in third-person and first-person views.
This is quite signifiant as the Turok franchise is traditionally a first-person affair and Turok Origins, at the time of its announcement, was only confirmed to be playable in third-person. Touching on this, Jesus Iglesias, Game Director on Turok Origins, previously said during an interview with GamesRadar that Saber Interactive know how to handle a classic IP like the much-loved dinosaur-blasting franchise.

Turok Origins sees players taking on the role of legendary Turok warriors against not only legions of dinosaurs, but also a new extraterrestrial threat that seeks to vanquish all of humanity. The game can be played solo or with some mates in tow, with the ability to extra DNA from defeated adversaries and the environment to access game-alternating powers.
Your journey will take you across deadly-yet-visually striking worlds across various planets, including ancient temples, dense jungles, wasteland canyons, and more as you soak up a narrative that promise ample twists and turns. It wouldn’t be Turok without a deadly arsenal of weapons though, and sure enough, you’ll gain access to everything from plasma rifles, ray guns, sniper rifles, to bows and shotguns.
Turok Origins is in development for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S with a release date yet to be announced.
