Twisted Metal has been delayed until early 2012, Eat Sleep Play boss David Jaffe has confirmed.
Writing in a post on the EU PlayStation Blog, Jaffe apologised for the delay, revealing the developers want to keep the vehicle combat romp in the oven for a few more months in order to ensure they can deliver the ‘best Twisted Metal ever made.’
"We’re not shipping Twisted Metal October 4th, 2011. We’re going to miss our date. We’re going to be late,” he said.
"Ugh! I know, I know. A lot of dedicated, supportive, passionate Twisted Metal fans have been waiting for the return of Calypso’s demented contest for a long time but the truth is: we’re just not ready yet.”
In addition, Jaffe also said that Eat Sleep Play is prepping a new build of the game for GamesCom and PAX Prime, which will showcase an all-new stage by the name of Thrills & Spills Amusement Park. A fresh trailer will be unveiled too, as well as a new game mode titled Team Hunted.
PSU will be attending GamesCom this year, so hopefully we’ll be able to bring you some hands-on impressions of Twisted Metal from the event.
Stay tuned.
