Ubisoft confirms new Assassin’s Creed for next year

In a conference call with investors today, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot announced that the company plans to continue its annual release of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, with a new game slated for launch next year. However, no additional details were given.

In slightly less predictable news, Guillemot also stated that pre-orders for the soon to be released Assassin’s Creed: Revelations are “significantly higher than last year,” although, Ubisoft is predicting Revelations will see a “double digit decline” in sales compared to Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood.

Gamasutra had the scoop after attending the conference call, and quoted Guillemot as saying “We want to be careful and prudent, but we have high expectations for the product.”

So what do you think? Can higher pre-orders for Revelations lead to lower sales? Is Assassin’s Creed reaching the point of market saturation? Let us know what you think in the comments sections below.
