Leaker Tom Henderson has claimed that Ubisoft has another Assassin’s Creed remake in development alongside the previously-rumoured Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Remake, known as Project Obsidian.
Speaking in an extensive report on Insider-Gaming regarding the French publisher’s plans for Assassin’s Creed Infinity, Henderson mentioned a number of upcoming titles in the works including “another Assassin’s Creed Remake, which are all scheduled to release by the end of the decade.”

That’s literally all we know right now on this mysterious project, and at this point Ubisoft has yet to confirm that the Black Flag remake is even in development. However, a report last month claimed that the remake of 2013’s swashbuckling title entered production in September 2023, so we won’t see it for a good while yet.
If we were to hazard a guess at what other Assassin’s Creed Remake is in the works, I’d probably say Assassin’s Creed II due to its popularity among fans (also the case for Black Flag), although part of me would love to see the original game given a modern overhaul.
In case you missed our earlier coverage on Henderson’s report, he claimed that Assassin’s Creed Infinity will receive a major new entry every two years, with smaller updates added to tide players over.
