Naughty Dog has staple-gunned a June 29 release date to Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’s first batch of multiplayer downloadable content.
The free update offers a host of new content, including a new map, plus fresh weapons, skins, taunts, and boosters. In addition, a new update will also be deployed alongside the DLC, adding custom matches, custom loadout names, and a revamped Ranked Team Deathmatch.
If that wasn’t enough, Naughty Dog has also promised a much-requested feature will be implemented, though isn’t sharing any details right now.
Gamers can get their first look at the new content in a live stream tomorrow.
Naughty Dog keeping mum on single-player content, Uncharted 5 could still see the light of day
Uncharted 4 was released exclusively on PlayStation 4 on May 10. The game picked up rave reviews from critics, including a mighty 10/10 from PSU, and sold over 2.7 million copies in its first week alone.
The game takes place three years following the events of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, and sees Nate coming out of retirement as a fortune hunter after he is reunited with his brother, Sam, who was previously thought to have been killed some 15 years ago.
Together with Victor ‘Sully’ Sullivan, the Brothers Drake embark on a globe-trotting hunt for a legendary pirate treasure, which takes them to Italy and Madagascar among other exotic locations.
Naughty Dog has confirmed this is the final Uncharted game they will develop, although there’s a chance that Uncharted 5 may be worked on by another studio down the line. Despite this, it’s still got some single-player DLC in the pipeline, so the Santa Monica outfit isn’t saying goodbye just yet.
