Sony has offered some explanation regarding the lack of a multiplayer component in the forthcoming Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection.
As reported yesterday, the collection will only include the single-player campaigns from the first three Uncharted adventures, eschewing Among Thieves and Drake’s Deception’s online portions entirely.
Writing in the comments section on the PS Blog in response to fans enquiring about the lack of multiplayer, Sony’s Eric Monacelli explained:
"Yes, access to the Uncharted 4 beta! No MP from the first three games. We didn’t want to fracture the current player pool and community."
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is scheduled to ship in the U.S. on October 7 and in the U.K. on October 9. Pre-orders are now available on Amazon and other online retailers.
