Leaker DanielRPK has claimed that Half-Life 3, which has been rumoured for years now and still hasn’t been officially announced, is being positioned as the last game in the critically acclaimed franchise.
The tipster didn’t got into any further details on Half-Life 3 in their latest Patreon update, simply stating that the highly anticipated sequel is designed as the “final chapter.” It wasn’t clarified if this pertains to the mainline series — thus leaving the door open for possible spinoffs — or the franchise as a whole.

We’ve been hearing a lot of whispers about Half-Life 3 lately, as earlier this month it was claimed by a Valve insider that the game is indeed in development and already playable from start to finish. It was also suggested that we could get an official announcement this year, although nothing official has been confirmed by Valve at this point.
Half-Life 2 was released in 2004 and remains one of the most celebrated video games of all time. Valve supported the game with episode content in the form of Episode One and Episode Two in 2006 and 2007, respectively, and had planned Episode 3 before cancelling the project. If Half-Life 3 is indeed coming, it’s been a long wait for fans to say the least. We’ll keep you posted.
