Speaking during an interview with Nyhetsbyrån Direkt, Fredrik Wester, the CEO of Paradox Interactive, has suggested that the long-delayed Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2 could finally launch in 2023.
According to Wester, development of the blood-sucking sequel is progressing well, and there’s hope that the game may finally see the light of day next year.
It feels very good about Bloodlines 2 and we will probably be able to set a launch date for this game reasonably soon. We feel that the game has been in very good hands and we are incredibly satisfied with what we have see.
He added that “it’s absolutely not impossible that Bloodlines 2 could launch sometime in 2023.”
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 was originally in development at Hardsuit Labs, although Paradox put the kibosh on that and hired a new studio. While we don’t know who is leading the project, the company said last November that it is happy with the progress made on the game so far.
Paradox admitted that Vampire: Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 was nearly scrapped altogether due to the various problems with the project.
