Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has been resurrected by The Chinese Room and will launch in Fall 2024, Paradox Interactive announced over the weekend during its PAX West keynote. The gameplay reveal is currently set for January 2024.

The Chinese Room has ample experience in first-person titles known for their emotionally rich narratives, and have scooped awards from the likes of BAFTA and TIGA among others.

Ed Daly, studio director at The Chinese Room, commented:

Vampire: The Masquerade holds a special place in our hearts. The story world’s dark setting filled with intricate narratives built on top of modern society perfectly fits our studio’s catalog. Bloodlines 2 is our most ambitious project to date. Fans of the franchise have been eagerly awaiting this game, and we are up to the challenge. We are bringing more than 15 years of award-winning experience to the project, creating a game that honors the legacy of its predecessor while bringing its gameplay to the modern era.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has endured a troubled development cycle, having been delayed numerous times over the years. Hardsuit Labs was originally behind the project until around February 2021, after which it was moved off the sequel and Paradox had partnered with a new developer. The studio also admitted that Bloodlines 2 was nearly cancelled at one stage.
