IGN has announced Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown, which is a PS4 exclusive title and a full remake of the game, with a brand new engine, new online features, and led by development teams at SEGA AM2 and RGG Studio (the team behind Judgment and Yakuza).
Set to release on June 1, 2021, Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown adds new background music for every stage, a fresh user interface, a new opening cinematic, and lighting and shaders. You will also now be able to spectate online matches, hold online tournaments, and play online with lobbies that support up to 16 players, with new communication options available.
The game is also reportedly set to be a part of June’s PS Plus lineup, which could be the case as June 1 is a Tuesday.

We enjoyed Virtua Fighter 5 when it first released back in our review. This remake was leaked last week after it emerged on the PSN.
