Watch Dogs 3 Release Has Been Slipped By SAM, Ubisoft’s AI Assistant

It seems that the Watch Dogs 3 pre-announcement marketing is trying its best to tie in with the tech-heavy action-adventure series.

We get rogue tweets that get deleted, hacking game April Fools jokes on Uplay, and now Ubisoft’s AI assistant SAM has quite casually dropped the information that Watch Dogs 3 is indeed in development.

SAM Lets Watch Dogs 3 Release Slip

SAM, which went into Beta testing in Canada back in January, is supposed to be the gaming equivalent of Siri or Alexa. It is there to offer assistance to players with their Ubisoft titles by answering questions and such. Naturally, somebody was bound to ask it about Watch Dogs 3 at some point.

When SAM is asked about Watch Dogs 3, the response is as follows

Watch Dogs 3 is not finished yet, but from the last early build I tried it's very solid. The Dev team works wonders! Can't wait for you to try it!

UbiCentral, a Ubisoft fan channel on YouTube, put this to the test and got some cold hard proof of it happening.

There’s definitely something happening where Watch Dogs 3 is concerned, and this latest tease is clearly intentional rather than something accidentally left in SAM.

The ongoing tease for Watch Dogs 3 is certainly a long game kinda thing. An update to Watch Dogs 2 last February teased the series heading to London next.

With E3 around the corner, and Ubisoft wishing to keep Assassins Creed as an ‘every other year’ series, it appears a Watch Dogs 3 release could not only be revealed this year but launch as well.
