Developer Bungie has confirmed it will be hosting a special ‘Reveal Stream’ for Destiny next week, where it is strongly believed the shared-world shooter’s next expansion will be announced.
The stream will kick off on Thursday, June 9 at 6.00pm BST, and promises, "This will be your first glimpse at what awaits you later on this year, followed by a deeper dive with the development team."
This sounds a lot like we’ll be getting our first look at Rise of Iron, which is the rumored title for Destiny’s latest (and possibly final) expansion pack. Activision previously confirmed that the DLC will drop later this year.
Destiny 2 hitting PS4 in 2017, but there’s still life in the first game
Activision announced earlier this year that in addition to a new expansion for Destiny later this year, a full-fledged sequel to the first game will drop at some point in 2017. No details on Destiny 2 have been revealed as of yet, although we may hear something at E3.
Released in September 2014, Destiny has received three major expansion to date: The Dark Below, House of Wolves and The Taken King.
In recent months however, Bungie has opted to keep the user base entertained with various time-based events, such as Halloween-themed Festival of the Lost, Valentine’s Day’ Crimson Days and the adrenaline-fueled Sparrow Racing League.
April saw the release of a major update for Destiny, which introduced heaps of new content including some PlayStation-exclusive weapons and a revamped Prison of Elders.
