At Sony’s press conference today, Sega revealed a trailer for their new title in the Yakuza series, Yakuza: Ishin. It will be set in Kyoto during Japan’s Edo period. Kazuma Kiryu will be replaced with a past look-a-like named Sakamoto Ryoma. Popular characters from previous games will make their return, as well new characters.
Additionally the game has cross-play with the PS Vita.
Yakuza: Ishin will be shown at the Tokyo Game Show but it was not mentioned if it was playable.
The Japanese launch date will be February 22, 2014 for both PS3 and PS4, which coincides with the Japanese PS4 console release. No mention of a western localization was given at this time.
