Ys: Memories of Celceta release date announced

XSEED has unveiled the official release date for the remake of Ys IV that’s coming to the PlayStation Vita, called Ys: Memories of Celceta.

The word "remake" is a hindering terms, and many PS Vita owners are familiar with what comes with a remade game. However, Memories of Celceda is not a remake, but rather it’s a reimagining of a former game. In fact, Ys IV has been published three different times before this in native Japan, and each publishing was done by a different company. This newest outing is complete with a brand new story to the Ys IV universe, but like every Ys game to date, the stories within each game stand alone, so there’s no need to feel like anything is being missed, narratively speaking.

The world itself is set on raising the bar for portable games, as Tom Lipschultz, Localization Specialist at XSEED, declared that "the land of Celceta has been expanded from the usual handful of maps to an overworld so massive, you could easily fit the combined worlds of every other Ys title to date inside it… several times over, at that."

The game alone will retail for $39.99, and the Silver Edition, which will include a cloth map, soundtracks of past and present Ys titles, and art book with strategies and maps, will retail for $59.99. Take a look at the Silver Edition package below.

There’s a lot to explore in XSEED’s newest localization, and Ys: Memories of Celceta is set to release exclusively for the PlayStation Vita on Nov. 26. Included below is the official Adventure Trailer released in celebration of the release date confirmation, so check it out and let us know your thoughts on XSEED’s newest localization.
