It looks like SOCOM 4 will not be available until 2011 and Zipper Interactive has posted a letter to fans on SOCOM’s official blog, explaining the delay.
The company says it does not want to skimp in the development of the game, and instead wants to “deliver the best and most immersive SOCOM game,” that the company can create.
“While we’re certainly aware that you’ve been looking forward to playing SOCOM 4 this year, we don’t want to take any shortcuts,” writes Jeremy Dunham, senior community manager of Zipper Interactive. “Instead, we want to deliver the best and most immersive SOCOM game we possibly can and we’re going to use our extra time to do just that.”
You can expect to learn more about the title, including additional gameplay features, in the coming months. While we were looking forward to a fall release for the game, we are hopeful the additional time will result in a solid game and proper use of the PlayStation Move.
