Announcing its financial results for the first half of the fiscal year, it appears Ubisoft employees have been living the high life, with company sales increasing 52% worldwide.
"Ubisoft's excellent sales performance during the first half of fiscal 2007-08 has considerably boosted our earnings figures for the period," said Yves Guillemot, Ubisoft CEO.
"In addition, the early indications for our Christmas game launches have been positive, especially for Assassin's Creed, whose sell-through sales have already topped the record level of one million units."
However, there was one stain on Ubisoft's road to industry domination - PS3 shooter Haze will miss the holidays. It's now set for a Q4 release in the 2007 fiscal calender. Don't worry junkies; you'll get your fix of nectar before March 31, 2008.

Keller is correct. The Financial year, or "Fiscal Year" is different from our calendar. Quarters are: Q1 March to June, Q2 June to September, Q3 September to December, Q4 December to March. I'm pretty sure.

well its a bit of a pain I agree, but in another way I'm glad since now I can focus a little more on COD4, Rachet and Clank and Uncharted Drakes Fortune....although I'd like to see Wipeout HD before Christmas, that would be nice

That’s not good enough this console seems to be missing the boat continuously it's terrible news for a console thats struggling badly i mean the other game i was looking forward to, infact all three games i was looking forward too are either delayed or they have had terrible reviews take time crisis that got a review on 1up.com of just three out of ten whats happening, UT delayed, take the orange box the xbox360 version was done by valve but the ps3 version get’s done by the publisher EA i bet thats a mess. This could now spell the end for this struggling console and i mean the 40gig isn't released here yet but honestly the ps3 only has one exclusive that's drake and that might not sell well take ratchet and clank very very poor sales, i think it's all over already i do now definitely.

Jeez Leeman, don't be such a doomsayer! Yes, it is annoying that Haze & UTIII are being delayed but think on this - which would you prefer? A game that's rushed out and is buggy as anything or a quality game that, while it might not get released as quickly as you wanted it to, is great fun to play?
People would be complaining just as much if they rushed the game out and it was poor quality. If it's good then it's going to be worth wait, surely?

Both Haze & UTIII are timed exclusives anyway. Haze is an exclusive for the first quarter of 2008 and UTIII is coming out on the Xbox360 next year as well. Not that you can really call UTIII an "exclusive" as it's out on the PC also, so I suppose "console exclusive" would have been a better term. ;)

Think about it EVERYONE, they're probably delaying the games not only so they can work out ALL the kinks so when it does come out it'll be totally awesome and also because of all the hype & publicity Ubisoft has created, everyone will WANT to buy the games at launch time. I personally think they thought this thru.

fuuck we need games all xbox relly has over us is its game libaraby which will be comming to a halt soon since all new games wont be fitting on their dvds but it dosent matter wtf stupid developers for supporting a console which jsut cannot go on another year when ps3 has massive potenail for the futrue yet gets ignored WE CANT ALL LIVE IN HE PAST CAS DEVLOPERS ARE GREEDY AND HAVE TO MAKE GAMES INFEIROIR JUST SO THE XBOX CAN RUN THEM
AND STOP MAKING BLOOODY FPS's. damn what happend to the glory of ps1 and ps2
and what happend to the days where the buyer had a choice what to buy rather then jsut hopeing that the console they have will produce decent games. come to think of it the ps3 has relly not lived up to what i ahd hoped meh mabye next gen we will see somthing revolutionary. at least from some one feels like we are in the stone age right now

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF*UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU*CCCCCCCCCCC*KKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS IS BULLMOTHERF*U*C*KING SH!T!!!!!!!!
I'm really starting to worry about the PS3.....And no, Wyverex, Haze is not a timed exclusive, it's a PS3 ONLY exclusive. Check the archives on this site. 360 version and PC version were dropped. UT3 is the only timed exclusive. Why do people have such a hard time trying to understand this concept?!

DAMMIT!!!!!
The delays are becoming a huge buzz kill especially when they delay just weeks before their supposed release. As a PS3 owner its becoming hard to geeked for a game cause you the dealy bat is coming, espeicially if its supposed to be a big title.

This was thee game I was looking forward to during the holidays. Whatever. Now I'll go pick up COD4. If UTIII hits PS3 before Christmas (I'm guessing it will. Ubi must have some inside info and yes they would be crazy competing with UTIII for our $60. I've seen alot people who said they were gonna pass on Haze.) then I think the majority of gamers won't mind the delay.

This is so, so very disappointing. This really loads up the amount of games AFTER Christmas, when my wallet is already empty, and I don't have many ways to collect. But as gingo said: I guess this opens up the way for Unreal Tournament III. I'm so glad that UT3 got moved back up to before Christmas. Or we definately would have taken a big shot from all the Xbots.

Look let's not beat around the bush and say we don't wont bug’s in our games and so on this is terrible news i mean how many delays are there gonna be, and with the n.american hardware sales in for 17th week ending it doesn't look very rosy for sony again with this weeks sales down fifteen per cent on last week, and with this happening could prove to be the end without doubt.

So far it's still December 4th for the release of Haze. I notice that PSU is either quite delayed on a lot of it's news or it's somehow erroneous. I double checked with a few game stores and places like Gamestop/EB games still have a December 4th release date. Don't worry even if Haze is delayed till next year there's still tons of other stuff to play on PS3! I doubt that it's been delayed till next year but I could be wrong we'll have to wait and see!

yeah...this totally sucks but it makes sense. ubisoft is already waay up for this quarter. they should easily exceed market expectations and thus pushed back haze because they probably have a weak Q4 line-up. that way they can be up in sales for Q4 as well and keep investors very very happy. companies do this ALL THE TIME. you think it is because it won't be ready.....i highly doubt it in this case..we have seen too much evidence that this one was all but Gold so i will honestly say this is Ubisoft delaying it to help their 4th quarter earnings and boost their stock.

@TOmass... you still haven't got COD4 yet whats wrong man your missing out money must be tight huh lol... j/k n e ways I got a friend who works for Ubisoft and is developing an upcoming game thats going to be sick he said but he caught wind from his bosses and yes they want a strong 4th qtr so they pushed haze back, also when finiding out a strong demand of online play coming from COD4 they decided to amp up the servers and fine tune it because they are expecting a high demand of people to play online roughly 70% of PS3.. so multiplayer is sounding pretty good if this is true. Lastly.. I also checked with game stores and they all seem to say the same date and thats Jan. 16th which is the start of 4th qtr even though the printed out list of upcoming titles states the 4th of December. So my guess this game is headed to stores in Jan. being that it's in their system........ Oh by the way these facts was given to me by a reliable source but that doesn't change the fact that my source and me could be wrong.
