Capcom has officially announced that Lost Planet: Extreme Condition will be heading to the PlayStation 3 some time in early 2008.
Originally released on the Xbox 360 and PC, the PS3 version is set to include all available downloadable content on a single Blu-ray disk, including the extra characters seen in the PC version. Furthermore, the game will support online multiplayer for up to 16 players.
UPDATE:
As hinted at earlier, several more announcements have also come to light from the press event today in London:
Street Fighter 4 has been confirmed and is currently in development for unknown consoles; expect more details towards the end of the week.
A new IP, Dark Void, was also unveiled, but no specific platform(s) were mentioned. Again, stay tuned for further information as soon as we get it.

I'm disappointed anyone else with me. From the reviews this is an average game. Will they improve the graphics and gameplay I highly doubt it. The news they're going to release later in the week needs to be better than this garbage but this is my opinion. EDIT The countdown was not for Lost Planet but for Street Fighter4: A New Beginning. Go to www.capcom-unity.com to see for yourself it will not show on the PS3 browser for some unknown reason. Will Street Fighter 4 be 2D or 3D? I'm more curious about Dark Void though.

Good face capcom. They have redeemed themselves parially. I think they may be owning up to their multiplatform claims. If true they regained my respect.

wait, so they took away a PS3 exclusive, and gave us back a last year 360 port, and we are supposed to be happy about it? F**K YOU CAPCOM.

Wait a minute. Capcoms 3 biggest franchises, DMC, RE and MH, all Playstation exclusive go multiplatform and for all our loyal supprot over the years, in return we get Lost Planet. I am now more p*ssed than I was when I read that MH3 was going to the Wii. Lost Platet is a good game, I've played it but its no AAA title and a game that should be now on the PS3 or at least announced it some time ago that it was coming to PS3 this year.
No wonder Capcom's forums are down, too many angry posters expressing how they feel.
If SFIV isn't a PS3 exclusive which it probably will be a muliplatform game, Capcom better announce that RE5 will be exclusive to PS3 in their next announcements, I won't accept anything less now.

Firstly I have played Lost Planet on the 360 and was completely unwhelmed by it in all honesty just like I was with Dead Rising seriously I don't think either game was any good. Dead Rising was fun but was hardly a game lol more a tech demo!!! Both are also massively late compared to when they were released on 360. I just hope Capcom are truly about to make a huge annoucement now they've built it up. Lost Planet a nice appetiser as is Bionic Commando, lets hope the big annoucement isn't Dead Rising coming to the PS3 lol. Maybe RE5 exclusive? Yeah right!!!

i agree with funkybudda, they took away a great exclsuive and then cancel monster hunter for ps3 and give us a last year 360 game? i am very dissapointed in capcom. i loved em the most when they were catering us with good games for the ps1and ps2 like the street fighter games and megaman etc.l

Hey at least they didn't annouce that RE5, DMC4 and all future games will not be on PS3 :D.
Maybe, just maybe, all good artists of Capcom have been taken by the RE5 team. What was seen as gameplay of RE5 looked incredibly reallistic, way ahead of any other game - so it needs lots of 3D modelers to be completed by 2009. And a lot of photographers to make the textures, I'd suggest.

Okay, everyone needs to stop asking or talking about Street Fighter. This is a not a game that will move units or satisfy "US" the consumer. CAPCOM should the very least bring home RE5 this game FRANCHAISE is SONY'S not to be distributed across platforms! I very much agree with Funkybudda. to have them strip us of our big seller exclusives and then turn around a year later and say "Hey guys great news, here's Lost Planet!" is a F%2CKING insult! CAPCOM can only do us justice by making RE5 EXCLUSIVE, BRING IT HOME WHERE IT BELONGS! Only way fans will be satisfie and continue to invest OUR money in your company!

Before the update (the original post), I said "Cool, now I feel different about Capcom, I mean we're getting a 360 port, a game other people have been playing for almost a year." After the update of the original post, I feel the same. Obviously the only thing Capcom has "given PS3 owners" today is a 360 port, SF and this Dark Void game are still up in the air as to where they'll end up. Thanks

Yes but it's not a AAA game. My brother has it, the guy played it for a week beat it, then played online for about 3 weeks then never put it on again. only keeps on his shelf just to say to me that 360 has some solid games. A real lost of exclusivity for them would be something like mass effect, or a gears of war type of game. Did you know that Assassin's Creed was to be a PS3 exclusive before we lost it and went multiplat?

I personaly think it is an insult to us PlayStation fans. They take away our beloved exclusives from us and make low quality multiplat games, then they say they are going to make it up to us by hyping this "Big Announcement" and give us yet another port of a game that was released last year! Are you kidding me? They basically just kicked us in the balls then spit in our face when we were getting back up. Shows how much they appreciate our business...

They'd better at least fix the control scheme when they port it over. It seems they haven't changed the minds of most of the PS3 crowd with they're announcement, either. Nice job, Capcom.

Props to Capcom...this has me fairly satisfied. Most of my gripes were with the lies about being a multiplatform company. Now that they are bringing Lost Planet to the ps3 they are being halfway truthful about it. I'd still like to see Dead Rising though. For now I'll cut them a little bit of slack though.

I agree with dfontes1188. Capcom has continually screwed over Playstation fans again and again. We lost RE, We lost DMC, If they ever make another Onimusha, we'll lose that too. And to make things right they give us Lost Planet? I was excited by this game when it was first annouced last year, but it's nothing but an average, slow paced action game. It's nothing like their better games. And they think by giving us this it'll Change the way we feel about them?! Dear Capcom, give PLAYSTATION back it's great games. Give us back DMC and RE and then we might change the way we feel about you.

im happy lost planet is coming to ps3 along with all the bonus content in a single blu-ray disc along with the new IP dark void and street fighter 4.....i loved lost planet on the 360 and i think the multiplayer was awesome so hopefully they can bring all that and more to the ps3.....as for gaining my respect back, i dont kno i still think capcom has ways to go...perhaps if they made RE5 a ps3 exclusive then that might be a nice little way to cap it all off and let bygones be bygones

If Street Fighter IV is going to be next-gen, count me in. Street Fighter II: Championship Edition is my favorite fighting game of all-time. Lost Planet: Extreme Condition is an okay game from what I hear; it should be a great addition to the PS3's [multiplatform] line-up.

Worthless news, as I predicted, Capcom just wanted to hype news so that PS3 fans would muster up some last hope, just to have it shattered with a worthless new port for PS3 and the promise of a SF game that may or may not be on the PS3. Thanks a lot Capcom, I signed the petition way back for DMC's exclusivity, and you have not gained back my money, and I know that's all you really care about anyways.

I would have prefered Dead Raising but it's nice to see them making good on the multiplat thing, But I have no desire to tpuch streetfighter 4, I'm so done with fighting games and their ridiculous combo and limited stories than never seem to change. Dark Void... howmuch do you want to bet it'll be a 2nd rate multiplat action game with dirivative game play elements. Oh well guess it's better than nothing.
