Capcom reveals Street Fighter's movie cast

Capcom has revealed the cast for their upcoming videogame driven movie project, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. Distributed by 20th Century Fox, the movie is set to release sometime in 2009.

As the movie title suggests, the storyline will be based around Chun-Li, a character introduced in Street Fighter II. She was the first female playable character in a 1 on 1 fighting title, and due to her lightning fast attacks and attractive female attributes, she became a fan favorite.

Confirmed Cast Members:

Chun Li will be played by Kristen Kreuk from TV's Smallville.
Balrog will be played by Michael Clarke Duncan from The Whole Nine Yards.
M. Bison will be played by Neal McDonough from The Guardian
Vega will be played by Taboo from the Black Eyed Peas.
Charlie Nash will be portrayed by Chris Klein from the America Pie trilogy.
Gen will be played by Rick Yune from The Fast and the Furious.

Even though the movie will be released in 2009 (first game released in 1987), its purpose is to commemorate the franchises 20 year anniversary (and make lots of money). We only hope that they learned from their last attempt, and it doesn't disappoint as bad as 1994's Street Fighter staring Jean-Claude Van Damme.

    Kristen Kreuk she is too small to play chun li... she is very hot .. taboo ??? the indian guy from BEP ... ill download it at best.

    Seriously did no one learn from the first Street Fighter movie, Capco.. I mean Crapcom, stick to the crappy games.

    at least this movie don't have in  Jean-Claude Van Damme. I feel that they should of made this movie like beowulf

    TBH Chris Klein is going to make me laugh just becase he's still the OZ to me. =P And Chun Li being Kristen Kreuk was a right choice. She has thos kat eyes. *_*

    We have yet to see a live-action Streetfighter with Ryu as the main character, but this is never going to happen, unless Capcom themselves get involved like they did with the far superior animes. The same goes for the Tekken movie.

    What!!! I thought this was gonna be a TV Movie! I Can't believe its actually gonna be in theaters. Don't these people know that those who don't learn from history are DOOMED to repeat it?! This movie is probaly going to earn less than the first if thats possible!

    As far as I can recal Kristen Kruek isnt even Asian! she just has squinty eyes! Dude this is totally direct to video.

    Atleast she has had fight training for Smallville so she'll atlaest know how to throw a punch.

    me too DeadonArrival,  i thought it was a GOOD game to film adaption, all the characters and story based on the leader, Col. Guile,  were in it and some signiture mooves too, + dont forget Raul Julia played the perfect M Bison! Van Damme played gule well too! minus a slight accent lol.

    Kristen Kreuk is the only reason to watch that film! Same as Angelina Jolie is the only reason to watch Tomb Raider and Jessica Alba is the only reason to watch The Fantastic Four.

    If this was produced and directed by the same team as the Underworld movies...or even Blade Trilogy....maybe people will actually remember it as an actual theatre movie!!??!!

    this is going to be just like the dead or alive movie it will be just as crapy as the rest of the VG movies and the cast is so lame i bet they didnt have enough money to pay for  good a cast what a joke capcom go suck a **** u ruin everything just like DMC4

    a movie based on street figher lol omg i mean MK has something but this :( anyhow i will watch it and see if its any good once it come's out cause i like the characters one thing the old movie of it was kinda good as for some people say that movie's based on games don't work then really you don't know a good movie when you see one.
