FFXIII demo coming in 2008

Square Enix has announced plans to release a demo of its upcoming PlayStation 3 exclusive, Final Fantasy XIII, as it pledges that “2008 will be the year” for new information on the highly anticipated RPG title.
Reports originate from Japan’s Famitsu and Dengeki magazines (via website FF-XIII.net), with Final Fantasy Character Designer, Tetsuya Nomura, stating that the demo will give players a “hands on” with the games new battle system.
While Nomura didn’t divulge when we could expect the demo, he did promise that more information on the game would be forthcoming, including details on characters, summons and an “unexpected connection between the keywords cocoon and Farushi.”
He also offered a cryptic hint as to when to expect the full game, stating, "I wonder when we'll be able to sleep...” and declared that the central theme of the title would be “determination.”

It's oh so getting exciting as the weeks go by!!!! Can not wait for more and more info on the game and maybe even a demo THIS YEAR!?!

Damn probably release demo in Fall 2008 just to keep negative feedback from the release in 2009.
Anyway Wont be released till Versus is finished, Last time I heard that FF13 was finished 70% and versus just started the devolepment.

With little quality control on PS3...I've decided to cut back on purchases and will only take a few PS3 titles this year. I'll select a handful of worthwhile games and I hope this will be one of them.

70% done? No way dude. Search the news articles from this fall on PSU, this game was only 13% done around September/October. I don't think they could've gotten much farther so quickly. That said, two different teams are working on FFXIII and FFvXIII, they've both been in production but FFvXIII did start later.

@Xdeth, i guess its better than his usual "Awesome, Can't wait" line on topic: all these demo's comming is great, would be wonderful if they just lined up a steady supply. a major game demo each week!

sick game but i wouldn't preorder this game i'm still picking it up on launch regardless of the reviews. i want to support the series in hopes that it stays with sony. even if it means paying 60 bucks. i heard that this is the directors last game. if it is true hope the next director doesn't make FF multiplatform

Guess this confirms a 2009 release then, which probably means that Versus XIII wont be released until 2010 (unless they are released at opposite ends of the year). I just hope that they release the game worldwide simultaneously, considering how big the game will actually be.
