Final Fantasy XIII to appear at E3

Square-Enix has revealed that the company’s highly anticipated RPG Final Fantasy XIII will be making an appearance at the E3 Media and Business Summit this July.

Speaking with Videogaming247.com, a company representative commented, “There’s going to be more things happening for XIII at E3.”

“That’s all I can say at the moment. And throughout the year there’s more things planned as well, which should shed more light on the release timings.”

Much of the game has been kept under wraps since its initial unveiling at E3 2006, although it is known the title will implement a similar battle system to Final Fantasy XII, in the sense players will participate in real-time, non-randomised battles.

Summons will also be making a return in this latest instalment of the extolled RPG franchise, with the developers also looking to incorporate some form of online component.

Rumours have indicated that Square is planning a significant showing at the Tokyo Games Show later this year, although this has yet to be confirmed.

    not really interested in rpg type games but I'm going to see what this turns out like and if it gets a big fat 10 then I'll buy it because I'm looking for a nice collection of all genres of games

    I gotta say, i've never actually played a final fantasy game, but after the amazing trailers I've seen for this on PS3, I'm definitely gonna buy it!!!!!!!!!!!

    psn id: gingo.... hopefully there is a demo or at least a new trailer but i'm leaning towards just a trailer at this moment in time

    after MGS4  .... its Final Fantasy Time .... i miss the real RPG's in the PS3 ... WHY.. but FFXIII will role them all

    I'm not really an RPG fan, but I'm looking foward to this one and Versus because I want to experience what this nex-generation of games is bringin on all genres of video games.

    Also, I believe Xbox is trying to gain ground where their loosing.....Japan.  Being that Japan has a very strong fan base for RPG games.  Clever for Xbox to try and take all RPG's away from PS3.

    Well hopefully we'll get an idea of a possible release date seeing as there isn't even  a TBA in any year. Hopefully Spring/Summer '09.

    If Final Fantasy 13 shows up at E3, its not a question if it will or not. Its a question if it'll be shown to the public in which it BETTER!

    i wish this game would hurry and come out so my son will stop bugging me about it. he can't wait after being hooked on FFXII for the last 6 months.
