Media Molecule’s critically acclaimed platform romp LittleBigPlanet has running jumped its way on to European store shelves today, and to celebrate, Sony’s released the first of three TV adverts for the title.

Check out the infectiously charming footage below, which focuses on the family-friendly create mode (thanks to Joystiq for nabbing this one).

Sony really need some new people in there advertising dept.  This is a perfect example of how to kill a product at launch ... AGAIN!!!

They would have been better showing the footage from E3 '07 when big phil got b!tch-slapped by the guys at MM

I saw some adverts for LBP in the uk weeks ago, I presume this is also a UK one due to the language

     i saw some too.

Other than the dog being run over making me laugh, it was pretty bad. Why not show a shorter life in little big planet episode with the australian narrator.

The reason all these EU adverts is dissapointing, is the fact that sony have great adverts they show in the US, they just pay extra to have worse ones in the uk instead of using the same ones.

If you don't see the fun side of that, please go crawl back under your rock.   That is the way the Australian sense of humour is, and it's jovial, fun and off the wall.

how can this be family friendly??? "hit by a car" (made me laugh!) but some poor kid out there might not like that sort of imagery, or blowing up the family pet.... by the sound of the accent this guy is from australia so are we sure this is a european advert?

love it. tongue-in-cheek, a relaxed and humorous approach.

one thing though, this doesnt inform the uninformed consumer about the whole create share and play thing. if anything, it would confuse the average consumer, who might have never even heard of LBP. it would work if it is targeted at those who already know about it, though.

I think they should do an advet showing a time-elapse of a level being created and then playing it with freinds.
