Polyphony Digital’s Gran Turismo 5 Prologue has debuted at the top of the UK All Format Charts following its release last Friday, beating out Resistance: Fall of Man as the fastest selling PlayStation 3 title within a week.
The latest instalment in the popular racing simulator - available as a PlayStation Network or Blu-ray title – has pushed former top spot holder Rainbow Six Vegas 2 down to second place.
Meanwhile, Infinity Ward’s critically acclaimed Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare continues to leave an impression on the charts over four months since its release in late 2007, nestled in at number seven among ubiquitous titles such as Brain Training and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games.
See below for a full chart round up:
1. Gran Turismo 5: Prologue
2. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2
3. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games
4. Pro Evolution Soccer 2008
5. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock
6. Sega Superstars Tennis
7. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
8. Viking: Battle for Asgard
9. FIFA 08
10. Brain Training

Judging by the million pre-orders in EU, this is just as expected. I anticipate next year when the full game is finally out! But as for the rest of the year, I truly believe there'll another two or possibly three games that will gain the exclusive platinum pre-orders! As for CoD4, I guess everyone is on the bandwagon due to the, so far, "disappointing" (IMO) upcoming sequel!
BTW, I'm holding off until the GT Driving Force steering wheel is released next month as a 'possible' wheel+game bundle!? We'll see.
Sony GT5:P FTW!

I started playing GT Prologue last night which is pretty cool I have to say. But, does any one know if GT Prologue supports playing people from your friends list in private rooms? I cant seem to find any way of setting one up? Unless I haven't looked hard enough?

I don't like expensive demos, half games, or driving sims. I guess that's 3 strikes for GT5P.
