Midway games has earned themselves a bit of respect with their basketball arcade games starting with NBA Jams to the most recent NBA Ballers franchise. Now Midway is getting set to unveil their latest version of the NBA Ballers series and have named All-Star center, Dwight Howard, and rookie forward Al Horford as the cover boys for the game.

The latest game in the franchise, NBA Ballers: Chosen One, is being scheduled for release in a few months, specifically a Spring release date as per Midway's official word. NBA Ballers: Chosen One will be making its next-gen debut on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and Midway will be making a strong marketing push with both Howard and Horford.

"Dwight Howard and Al Horford are the perfect choices for NBA Ballers: Chosen One, which allows players to live the life of an NBA Superstar," said George Gomez, executive producer, Midway. "Dwight has already arrived as one of the best players in the NBA and looks to be a perennial All-Star, and Al is enjoying a fantastic rookie season after a stand-out collegiate career at Florida."

Howard has established himself as the next dominant big man, following the molds of Shaquille O'Neal and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. This year Howard is off to a phenomenal start, averaging close to 20.0 points and 15.0 rebounds per game while at the same time leading all NBA centers in the votes received for the 2008 NBA All-Star game (an honor that once belonged to the fading Shaquille O'Neal).

Al Horford was a college standout at the University of Florida winning two national championships with the Gators and eventually being selected by the Atlanta Hawks with the No. 3 overall draft pick last July. This past November, Horford was named the NBA's Rookie of the Month for his exceptional play and is looking to develop himself as one of the premier Power Forwards the game has seen.

Other cover athletes in the past have included Detroit Piston's guard Chanucey Billups, for NBA Ballers: Phenom, and New York Knicks' guard Stephon Marbury for the original NBA Ballers title. With two "big men" being the showcased athletes this time around, it may be worth paying close attention to see if any gameplay mechanics have been altered for the big man's style of play.
