Last year’s Just Cause was a breath of fresh air for the action shooter genre. With that being said, it is obvious that a sequel would sprout up. Through a hands on session at IGN, new information regarding the sequel is laid on the surface. The details may be read below:
- The game takes place several years after the events of the first game.
- Improved combat and enemy AI. Opponents now react intelligently to your behavior. They may call for reinforcements and use their environment to their advantage. The reinforcements could be deployed by parachute or helicopter attacks.
- New Hybrid Locking System allows players to target specific limbs on an opponent for more precise damage.
- New collection of weapons including laser controlled rockets, one handed grenade launcher, detachable mounted mini-gun and sticky remote triggered C4. All of the weapons are also fully upgradable with over 2,000 parts to make different customizations.
- New vehicles such as jumbo jets and an all new updated driving system.
- The grappling hook for Rico serves as an always ready to use arm mounted gadget, in which gamers will be able to attach to almost anything in the game.
- New vehicle stunt system.
- To add depth of the game, Just Cause 2 features over 1,000 unique smaller activities.
Currently Just Cause 2 is slated for a release later this year, possibly in the fall.

Haven't really looked into this game, but from the looks of it, looks like cross between Mercenaries and GTA. Now that I just read about the "New Hybrid Locking System allows players to target specific limbs on an opponent for more precise damage." more interested = )

I found JC1 to be a pretty decent game. Awesome graphics and action-movie-like gameplay mechanics reminiscent of Justice Force (PSP), along with a gigantic beautiful map to explore. Can't wait to see how they do this time, and its good to see the series coming to the PS3. To psn_frov: Please don't ever post anymore comments. You're only intention is to be the first to comment, which I hope you realize how intensely stupid your goal is. Try contributing next time, and no, that sentence you put together at the last second doesn't justify your comment at all.

Never heard of this game or the first one for that matter. Though I wish more games would come out with weapon customization.

What are you talking about? The graphics on the first game was amazing! At least on the PC, maybe not on the PS2. Oh well...maybe im just patriotic. (Just Cause was made by the swedish developers Avalanche Studios.) Sweden rules! :P -
