Three new Killzone 2 screenshots have surfaced on the Internet this morning, one of which shows off the impressive work Guerilla Games has done to provide amazingly realistic ground textures.

Notice the definition of each individual rock and the glistening lighting effect in the pools of water. This is just one of many visual highlights the hotly anticipated sequel promises to deliver upon its release in February 2009.

Check out the screenshots below.

Won't be getting this, but I'm no hater, I know Killzone is gonna be epic for the PS3 and I'm happy we are getting it. Why are PC gamers so smug? The only competition that matters is us versus Xbots. We can't afford to have the gaming industry brought down by a status quo of mediocre software. I'll watch Killzone 2s stats in hopes it becomes a breakout hit.

@42 my point is PC's have been around for a long time and always will be because they are allways on the cutting edge of technology. and with Consoles there hardware is dated as soon as it comes out, why buy another console lets say every four years! because they cant play the latest graphical games out thats why, thats why they had a ps1 ps2 ps3, like a PC you just upgrade the parts you need as ans when, not buy an whole system like a console. and whats wrong with future Consoles having upgradable parts in the future? and enabling more advances textures. and as far as the CELL goes its not only in a PS3 IBM made it. and the video card in the PS3 is outdated by a couple of generations now in a PS3 its basically a 7800gtx.=256MB GDDR3 RAM at 22.4GB/sec and the latest and fastes card 2GIG GDDR5=230GB/sec Memory Bandwidth 22-230 Massive difference there.all im saying is in the futire if consoles want to keep up then they need to change they way they are.

Imagine playing killzone2 in DX10 with loads more eye candy who wouldnt say no apart from you that is. i have a valid point and am not blinkered.

I totally disagree with you. See the price of a console is even cheeper than a top of the line graphics card for a PC (not to mention if you go for SLI or Crossfire combos). So while in 3 or 4 years, as you say, you´ll buy another, on the PC you buy on every year. Not to mention all of the rest you need to keep the gameplay FPS and RES. up.... no comparison there sorry.

graphics are great... it truly shows ps3's power... but we shud also see that good graphics are not the only part whch makes a game worth buyin... i feel now on next generation consoles every other game will come wid great graphics but the story line and gameplay shud also be tight so good graphics wont make me drooling over a game... give us a better reason to spend 60$...
