No LittleBigPlanet demo this year, says SCEA

Posted on December 12th, 2007 at 05:33 EDT

Sony Computer Entertainment America has confirmed that a demo of the upcoming LittleBigPlanet will not be released until 2008.

News comes following a recent event demonstrating forthcoming PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable software attended by MTV, where SCEA Senior Manager for PR, Ron Eagle stated, “I can officially confirm that there won’t be a demo this year.”

Despite this, Eagle let slip that he had played approximately 30 of the games 50 stages, and said it was a fun experience. He later reiterated a 2008 release date for the final version, and that more information would not be forthcoming until January at the earliest.

Stay tuned for more on LittleBigPlanet as it becomes available.

Little title could be very big when released! Though, it might be a love it or don't like it game!?! But highly critised by critics in good or in bad! Either way, can't wait to see the results.

I must admit to being a little disapointed with this news, especially since he';s bragging about play 30 of the 50 levels that will be available. I'm no programmer but surely geting 1 or 2 of those levels ready for a demo couldn't be that hard

Well I think i will be patient enough to wait for this demo. I am sure LBP will be full of fun.

Can't say I'm disappointed, considering that I forgot we'll be getting a demo this year. Haha.

I'm amazed that some expect a demo of a gme in 2007 that is scheduled for release in 200? Just goes to show how crazy PS3 expectations are!

I think that sony wants this to be a flagship title to coincide within Home's release which is why I'm not surprised. The only thing holding this game back would be the sheer amount of content that they can squeeze into the BD. With all that said, HURRY IT UP WILL YA!!

Hmmm, I thought I heard we were getting a chance to play this game this year for sure-but hey, wouldn't be the same if something wasn't delayed I guess.

If they are trying to make a this game the best it can be, does a demo really need to be in place to take them away from accomplishing that? It really is a matter of choice, they chose the route of making sure this games deilver's ten fold. XD

There's only 3 weeks left in 2007 as it is! I can't see why people are worried.

screw it with all the games that are out, i would rather wait for the demo, so the devs have more time for the final project.
