Recent screenshots have emerged that show what looks like a drastic change in Killzone 2. You can easily see that the models are smoother and the room is darker.

Seb Downie, QA Manager for Guerrilla Games, said on the official PlayStation forums that, "They are only the tiniest bit touched up. Short answer is yes. Long answer is that there was a little bit of colour-correction done and some minor polish, but nothing major. Still very close to reality and it looks better in motion in my opinion."
Killzone 2 is the third installment in the Killzone series that originally began on the PlayStation 2. It was first announced at E³ 2005 in Los Angeles, California, and is set for release in 2008. A lot of information is still unknown at this point.

I just hope the retail game would look this good,i mean it would be really bad if these are just touched up versions to make it look better than it will be.

sparking more reason to want this game. killzone is takeing an extraordinary amount of time to come out. but if u want the best u need to wait for the best. every game ever put out has a hand full of spots designers skip over or go cheap on. killzone is spending a good 6 and a hal years on this game so far and has dumped an estamatid 31 million into designing of the game tell me it isn't going to be amazing. if anything has the chance to beat the pI$$ out of HALO THIS WILL BE THE TITLE.

By the time it does come out, it had better be atleast as good as Guerilla say it will be! I'm sure it'll be very rewarding when we're happy...they'll be happy! :)

I do agree with princevegeta 1980 halo3 is a crap game what a waste of a once good franchise, lets now hope ps3 can do the business next year but i think it can because so far it's been well not has good as the two well overshadow by them, but next year i really think it's ps3’s year not sonys but ps3’s.

I've grown to understand that games often shown early don't come far from them. People thought that Bungie was touching up Halo 3 Beta after the lackluster graphics display and Frankie even saying stuff along the lines of "you ain't seen nothing yet". And we all know how far that came from the Beta. Unless I see updated videos along the way to release, It's safe to say that what we see here we can expect in the retail.
Timeshift was the only game I know of to have such a huge revamp in graphics.

What I like about the changes to the color scheme is that the darker colors give a much better contrast and they seem less washed out. Look at the textures on the side wall on the left, just that little color change brought that out so much more! Can't wait!

I really hope they aren't spending too much time on just graphics. The first Killzone and the PSP Killzone weren't that great, so althought I know this game is gonna look incredible I'm still very worried about how it's gonna play. I tried to play Killzone a couple weeks back and got so frustrated with the damn aiming and AI that I swore never to pick it up again. It's funny how such a lackluster series is getting HUGE hype just because of how it looks. Any other game with their prior record would be under our radar.

This looks fully sick, finally the game has some colour. I hope they do even more tweaking to the graphics before the game is launched, they have put soo much money into the game and there are a lot of developers working on the title as we speak. There is no reason why they can't make it look even better before launch.

graphics are always a plus but my main thing is gameplay, make some very challenging and fun missions and we got ourselves a winner. Dont make it repetitive like Assassins with brilliant graphics, because in my book thats what killed it for me even though i still played it through.

I'll agree the new screen looks better, and maybe it's just me, but I much prefer the screen of the previous. Not the gun persay, but the environment is easier to see.
