The Official PlayStation Blog has revealed that Sony plans on releasing over 60 new tracks for karaoke sensation SingStar in North America over the next few months.
Among the tracks due for release include the following:
- UB40 – ‘Red Red Wine’
- Billy Joel – ‘We Didn’t Start the Fire’
- Chumbawamba- ‘Tubthumping’
- David Bowie- ‘Let’s Dance’
- Pink – ‘Get the Party Started’
- Queen- ‘The Show Must Go On’
- New Order- ‘Blue Monday 88′
- Men at Work - ‘Down Under’
- Starship - ‘We Built This City’
Of course, this isn't all the company has planned. What type of Holiday season would it be without a ton of Christmas songs to sing-a-long too? A Grinch season, that's what. Sony has also included a list of songs from an upcoming Christmas Pack that we've included below.
- Toni Braxton – ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Xmas’
- Babyface – ‘Sleigh Ride’
- Shakin’ Stevens – ‘Merry Christmas’
- Paul McCartney – “Wonderful Christmastime’
- Celine Dion – ‘Christmas Eve’
In addition to the above, Sony also confirmed details on an upcoming patch for the title. According to the Blog, the patch – due before the end of the year - will allow users to play songs from their PS2 collection of games. To do so, you simply boot up SingStar PS3, hit select, and insert the PS2 disc into your PlayStation 3.
Those of you who don’t have a backwards compatible PS3 needn’t worry, as Sony has reassured gamers that this feature will work fine regardless of the system you own.
