A videogame adaptation of the forthcoming movie Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins is currently in the works and will be released on all major consoles, PC and mobile formats in summer 2009.

The project is being headed by the film’s production company, Halcyon, who announced this week that they have set up their own dedicated studio to oversee development of the title, which has been in production for several months. Specific platforms have yet to be announced.

The movie itself takes place an unknown number of years after the events of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, focusing on a post-apocalyptic setting as a now 30-year old John Conner and the remnants of the human race face an uphill battle to survive against the notorious Skynet Corporation.

Stay tuned for more information on the game as it breaks.

Oh cool, did they say it was going to be when Jon Conner is in the future, trying to stop the robots from taking over? That would be pretty sick, and he should win because in the first 2 terminators, they tried to kill the mom, and jon as a kid because the robots knew he would lead the humans to victory. Cant wait!

I didnt see the third one, i only saw the first, and second. Maybe thats why i think the series is stil good and the forth one will be a great addition, because it basicly follows the order of events to the final show down, the future man vs bot battle

If they can improve it, I'm all for it. My only beef, I wish they (developers) wouldn't say a game's coming out, when it's over a year from now. It would be nice, IMO, if they would just keep quiet about it until about 4 or 5 months before actual release date. Waiting a year for a game is really stretching it. I would say about 70 percent of the games that are not due on shleves for a year or so, never make it.... I think hyping up new releases is getting out of hand.........again, just my opinion.

Arnold Scharzenegger announced his retirement after he was elected govenor. So he is not going to be in the movie. And in my opinion, there is no such thing as a terminator movie without Arnold.

Arnold doesn't need to be in a movie based on the war between Man and Machine.  I am SPECULATING that the ending of the fourth movie will be John capturing a T-500 "Terminator" (steel skeleton machine) and sending it to the past to "change the future."  If Arnold needs to be shown, it would be in this speculated ending.  Otherwise there is no point in having him.  The war is between Man and Machine; where would Arnold fit in it?  Seems kind of obvious to me...unless they want to show you the /real/ ending of the war between Man and Machine.  I'm excited!  Loved all three movies and can't wait to see the fourth.

Skeptical to say the least.. Terminator 3 was pushing it.. and if they get that nob back from T3 to play John Connor i'd be annoyed.

    @ Jared

I think he captures a T-101 which is what Arnold was.

And the liquid one was a T-1000

And the nanomachine one in Terminator 3 was hot. I mean a T-X

I think if they got the facts right before making Terminator 3 then i would be excited about Terminator 4 "when i was 13 they tried again" sooo he was 13 nearly TEN years after 1984? yeah i think that works and i'm not sure but isn't he supposidely 25 in T3 which is set in 2004 by then he should of been 18, oh but they secretly had his dad travel back to 1981 so that John would end up being 13 in T2. Although T4 should hopefully be a decent film as T3 was dissapointing and hopefully the game will be just as good as T2 was on the Commodore 64(obviously with much better graphics in 3d) cos that was a cool game. shame ocean still isn't around making killer games

@The Mask. Are you kidding? T3 was the best movie in the franchise. Great story and great action. It was the perfect compliment to T2.

I hope they make a great game. I wasn't really attracted by the previous terminator games so they have a got work to do for this upcoming game

@punisher 99. i was just saying they didn't get his age right which put me off the rest of the film, that's the only reason i didn't like it, and John seemed to be a bit of a whus. Also i've read somewhere Arnold's doing a 30 second cameo for T4

If you guys remember T3 and remember the part where the terminator was explaining things to John and Katherine. He told them that in the future, the resistance captured him and reprogrammed for him to fight with the resistance against the machines. And then he also mentions that he was the one that killed John Connor in the future. The machines chose him because of his boy hood experiences with T-101. Noy I'm not sure of the timeline in the futre for when all this happens. But it would make perfect sense for Arnold to star in T4. They can show him fighting with the resistance. or when he kills john.
