Tiger Woods 09 announced

Electronic Arts has announced that the next instalment in its popular Tiger Woods franchise, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09, is currently in development and will be released in North America on August 26, 2008.

The upcoming sports sim promises to include a host of new features over its predecessor, including the appearance of Wood’s personal coach, Hank Haney, along with a plethora of new gameplay mechanics.

Mike Taramykin, Executive Producer for the game, commented, "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 is the most authentic golf video game on the market, and we're excited to bring an immersive experience to the masses.”

"Our partnership with Hank Haney provides fans immediate coaching from one of the top minds in golf. This year's game brings unprecedented levels of customization and control, allowing seasoned vets and first time players 'inside the ropes' of Tour golf."

The game will also boost an improved online component, allowing for up to four players to compete simultaneously, allowing gamers to attempt each hole at the same time rather than having to wait.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 is due for release on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Wii and Xbox 360.

    RB26DET you are spot on, it is a pretty good game, enough time to skin up and choke, but they are lazy mother doo dah wotsits! The only thing they change is the date Lol

    needs tighter analogue controls 08 was stupid when trying to putt especially the graphics and gameplay modes were all class tho!

    all 4 online players playing the hole at the same time? But then you wont feel like your actually playing with people...i like to watch my opponents play in turns. Thats what makes it fun..

    richkaos, you make not like EA, but the Tiger Woods series are always worth buying.  Its a great smoking game between shots!!!
