UT3 PS3 ships without PC mod support

Epic Games has revealed that the North American PlayStation 3 release of Unreal Tournament III has omitted the use of PC mod support due to various “legal/release issues”.
“The PS3 mod tools aren't quite ready yet”, stated Josh Adams, programmer for Epic Games. “We are working through some final legal/release issues."
Adams revealed that users would have to download an update in order to receive mod functionality in the game: "When it's ready, you will need to download the latest PC patch and another PS3 Mod Tools 'patch' that adds the full PS3 mod support to the PC version”, he said.
”PC mods will then need to be processed for PS3 use. You will have to cook your mods for the PS3 specifically. You will also need removable media (memory card, USB drive, etc) to transfer the mod from your PC to your PS3."
As for when the update would be available for consumers to download, Adams could only reveal, "We will have the tools ready ASAP!!" Epic is also flirting with the idea of implementing splitscreen play in the PS3 version of the game, adding, "We're aware that some of our customers wanted splitscreen for the PS3 version of UT3. We hear you and will evaluate the feature for possible future updates to UT3."
Stay tuned for more information on Unreal Tournament III as we get it.

This news must be a shock for those getting it this year!! I guess there are a few more things to wait for with this game sometime next year! I wish we could perform the mods on the PS3 itself somehow!?!

I picked up this title day 1, the visuals are awesome but...I'm not overly impressed by some of the audio. Anyone else feel that way..?

RETITLE THE ARTICLE. It's is NOT a problem with PS3 UT3. PS3 UT3 is perfectly capable of importing mods, it's the UE3 TOOLS that don't have PS3 exporting functionality yet. Re-read what he said. PC UT3 get's a patch, and the UE3 toolset gets a patch. PS3 doesn't need one.
Split screen functionality on PS3 UT3 will require a patch, yes, but the mod thing is a UE3 toolset issue. Not an issue with PS3 UT3.

If UT3 can do split-screen with an update, so should Motorstorm.
Come on Evolution (and Midway). Make it happen.

I hope they add split screen not only because a ton of people, including myself, want it, but also because it would shut up all the idiots that are saying, "It sucks because they'res no split screen." And Epic, take your time with the mod patch because I want that sh'' to be 99.99% perfect.

i think split screen would be an added plus i dont see why its so bad dont invite your friends to play if you want the screen all to your self. I actually think it's a must because i know i wouldn't be a gamer wanting to just watch my friend play all day and take up all the fun.
