As we stated in a past article, Sony has every right to be excited over this holiday season. The introduction of the 40GB PlayStation 3 should be enough to warrant attention away from the Xbox 360 and Wii the Christmas.

With that being said, a lot of people will be trying to snap up a PS3 to give to someone during the holidays, so it should not come to surprise that the console will be a hot commodity where everyone is going to want one.

To keep the trend going, the Dell online retail site just introduced what is possibly the best deal anyone can get for the 40GB PlayStation 3 this holiday season.

Set at an affordable price of USD 399, the 40GB PS3 from Dell will come jam packed with a whole slew of amenities which are as followed:

Includes
• Game system
• Sixaxis wireless controller
• The game Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction
• AC power cord
• Audio/Video cable (HDMI or Component cable sold separately)
• Ethernet cable
• USB cable
• Startech 6ft HDMI Cable
• Spider-Man 3 on Blu-Ray

As you may see, the package comes with most of the amenities that are standard with the 40GB PS3, however this one comes with Ratchet And Clank Future: Tools of Destruction as well as a Startech 6 foot HDMI Cable.
This is a hot deal so please take advantage of it before it comes sold out like it did at CompUSA.

PSU will continue to keep you informed on the latest PS3 holiday deals.

I'm starting to think these mods dont do any work or research. This information and most every other is always on the forums for days before i see any information on it on the front page of psu.com. I really think these mods just wait for regular people to do the work for them, post it on the forums, then put it on the psu front page. Who writes these guys paycheck?

The 5 free blu-ray deal is with the 80gig I believe. I think it has to with the rebates (don't remember the specific's). This is pretty good if they are including Rachet into the deal.

Let's not get too excited people. I was about to jump on the phone and call Dell to order it, but then realized that it's only available in Canada. Sucks. Hopefully it will be available here soon. Awesome deal. I thought the 5 Blue Ray movies applied to any Blue Ray player. Including all PS3s.

enacku: it's funny, i was reading this and wondering:

    1. how old are these cats

    2. who is their editor?

There are so many typos and redundant statements like "be a hot commodity where everyone is going to want one." ... Why wouldn't it just say "hot commodity"? That is the assumed definition of  "where everyone is going to want one."

    anyways. sweet.

Enacku.....I agree with you 100%, also the information/articles/reviews that are done are soo bad that are not even worth mentioning, not the best site for game reviews.

    @Enacku

That's true, and I agree wholeheartedly.  But what about the people that visit PSU and don't post or browse the forums?  Not only are the editors posting a lot of old news, but a lot of [the editors'] grammar is on the weak side.  Too many common mistakes!  I thought they were professionals? :D

Re: the five free Blu-Ray discs: People, please stop posting guesses.

The real info is: the official site for the deal is www.bluraysavings.com . Get the info there. Basically, the *original* 5-disc deal has, indeed, ended, but an almost identical deal (slightly different movies to choose from) is now in effect for players purchased in the US  and Canada  (be careful - there's a separate PDF for Canada) between 1 Oct 2007 and 31 Jan 2008. Qualifying players are listed at the site, but do include all models of PS3.

@enacku & cowteets & Jared: I also agree with all of you. I don't think "professionalism" is being exercised very well. Seems like it's been getting worse lately. It's only available in Canada, nothing is said about that. This deal sounds sweet as he**. Too bad I have a 60gb already, and in the US. The Best Buy flyer has 5 free bluray movies with their PS3s as well.

well either way the ps3 is a steal @ 399 but its worth a bonus to have 5 bd movies or rachet and clank game.
