Activision has confirmed to Gamespot that the next band-specific entry in the Guitar Hero franchise will be based on heavy metal group, Metallica.

The game is out sometime next year, according to a teaser trailer hidden away in Guitar Hero World Tour (now doing the rounds on YouTube). Platforms, exact dates and gameplay details have yet to be announced, but you can bet your bottom dollar, pound or whatever that it'll be gracing a PlayStation near you.

Are there any metal fans in the house? Dish out the aggro in the comments thread below.

Really don't care what they say 'bout Metallica. this band was by the most selling band in the 90's and with their new album they have stated they are here to stay.  One of the best bands of all times.

I really like Metallica but I don't know if they could be considered "heavy" metal. BTW, trash metal? I could've sworn it was called thrash metal, I'm prolly wrong though.
