Bethesda working on Fallout 3 patch

What's that? Bethesda, working on a multiplatform patch for Fallout 3? A game widely considered not only one of the buggiest PlayStation 3 titles this winter, but also one of the buggiest overall? Well quel surprise.
The announcement comes care of one of Bethesda's community managers, posting on the company forum: "We are currently working on a patch for all three platforms. When I've got more details, I'll let everyone know."
Some nasty technical flaws aside (the nastiest of which include game freezes, weird "night vision" lighting hiccups and random NPC death), Fallout 3 is one of the most appealing post-nuclear mutant-stompers we've encountered in years.
PSU's Eric Blattberg describes it as "an outstanding title that sets a new standard for action role-playing games". Best invest in a copy sharpish, and keep one eye open for that patch.

Question. Why didn't the bugs feature into its reviews? You know, like SOCOM? Oh yeah, genre bias.

@ Odium_Generis_Humani: Im pretty sure the bugs did come into the review...The SOCOM and R2 review "downgrades" were due to networking dificulties and the SOCOM review was actually updated due to a patch that fixed those issues.

Yes. I'm pleased with PSU for updating their review of SOCOM as far as the bugs were concerned. Other sites, however, weren't as professional...reviewing either game. I accuse other sites of genre bias for not slamming Fallout 3 for its bugs.

I'll be waiting on this game like I'll wait on SOCOM until the bugs are fixed, until then they wont get my money

you know, it's amazing that some developers don't waste time to get a game out the door even with several bugs. why can't they just take the extra time to get it right the first time?

As far as im concerned F3 has been slated big time re its bugs, the review on the tv show Playr highlighted all its flaws and suggested that the devs should have spent more time fixing than rushing the game out. I know i wont be getting it untill A. its cheaper and B. all the bugs have been patched.

Must appealing and the game with the most glitches I ever played in my whole life. I already got a little bit use to them but the game freezes (bout 6 until now and two that made me reset the ps3) are annoying. I already experiencied about 10 differnet glitches (sudden deaths, object flying into the air, people with twisted heads when they get out of bed, people talking without moving their mouth, weird color changes of the sky, rocks flooting in the air near raven rock, sounds of gun shooting when their isnt any shooting with the minigun, dead bodies moving, game freezing, objects falling from the sky when you zone to a place, Pipboy lighteffect gone crazy hmmm i guess those are all the one ive seen XD) ahhhhh plus really bad antialiasing.

This game made my 360 freeze twice. Usually it happens when I'm shooting something while a turrent and a bunch of raiders are shooting at me. When it freezes my controller bugs out and doesn't stop vibrating so I have to reset. All I can say is, "Thank you auto save".

If this is true, I might end up picking the game up afteral. The only thing that gets me is the exclusive DLC for the 360 and PC though I could be wrong since I haven't really kept any track of this game.

Awesome. Although, I didn't find it very buggy to be honest. Hopefully they announce some sort of trophy patch aswell.

The bugs I've experienced for the most part have been superficial but I did have to reset my systems once, thats very lame. Autosave rocks. also the cricked neck thing is just funny! I do have one issue though, I bought that dudes contract and then had him wait at my house, then I did the ravenrock mission and I got fawkes to be my hommie and when I came back to my house that other dude was gone!? wtf? I guess you can only have one hommie at a time.

Not really noticed too many bugs really, noticed that it pauses...every...time...a....friend...logs....in.... but other than that nothing too major affecting the enjoyment...miles better than oblivion anyway. We cannot expect perfection from a game this huge...glitches are always going to get through...at least they are working on improvements...

That's good! The game is buggy on all systems. I've had random "Stopping" (as in, give it 2 mins and it'll work again) in various spots, a couple right out crashes and the odd "you know something is wrong" load where nothing seems to work as it should and the game does it's hiccup thing.
But... I still love the game to death. Actually, can't wait for the trophies! I'm done of the main story and have a few minor quests left to do but am itching for another play through! Would like those trophies available for that.
