Activision unveils non-traditional World at War DLC

Daniel Suarez, Executive Producer for Call of Duty: World at War, has revealed that Activision intends to publish "two, maybe three" downloadable content packs for the best-selling World War II shooter.

In a phone chat with MTV, Suarez promised that World at War would get far more post-release material than Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (which has received one - and but the one - map pack so far). "We want to do at least - the hope is - potentially two, maybe three packs out before we’re all said and done," he said.

Suarez kept his lips sealed as to the nature of that content, commenting only that Activision would make further announcements shortly after New Year. He went on to suggest, however, that the World at War DLC would break from convention. “It’s not going to be what we’ve done traditionally. I’ll leave it a little bit mysterious.”

Developed by Call of Duty veterans Treyarch, World at War is the fifth entrant in the series. It hit shelves in November to considerable acclaim from consumers and critics alike, and the multiplayer mode has proved a popular choice over PlayStation Network.

CoD and all that crap are just remakes with fancier graphics. Pants. That's it, pants.

More Zombie Coop maps and more Pacific Maps!!!!  That's all I want.  Oh, and after 20 kills without dying...I think I should be able to call in bear cavalry.  Either that, or Russian explosive suicide mine dogs that could seek out enemy tanks and blow them up?

It could do with some shipment sized levels. Hopefully they'll also bring back some of the COD4 game options, Team Tactical anyone?

Maybe we'll get some more vehicles, jeeps or planes.

@ 5  If I wanted vehicles, I would have got a Battlefield game.  If anything they should do away with them, or at least limit the tanks to where once they're destroyed, they don't spawn in the match again, or make them easier to destroy.  I shoot them twice with rockets, throw a sticky bomb on them, and they still don't blow up.    Your typical W.W.II tank isn't going to take that much damage and still be going.  I think if they were going to add anything besides maps, they might think about adding more weapons and perks to the different prestige levels.  I think a dog repellant perk would be a great idea where as long as you didn't harm the dogs, they wouldn't attack you.  Or what about a perk that would let you add more than one add on to your weapon, like if you wanted to have a silencer and aperture sight?  That one might be difficult to add, but just an idea...at least for maybe a future COD game...perhaps one set in Vietnam.

Actually, World at War is Treyarch's third Call of Duty game, the same number Infinity Ward has made.
