Warner Bros to buy Midway?

As the global economy continues to crumble, game companies are feeling the heat. Midway, esteemed Mortal Kombat publisher, filed for bankruptcy in February.

New information has surfaced suggesting that media mammoth Warner Bros will buy out the ailing company.

“Warner is pretty confident that they will get Midway – which will be an immediate boost to their portfolio," a source close to Midway informed MCV. "The deal isn’t done yet. Midway is still open to offers from other potential buyers – but Warner looks to be favourite to wrap it up. They look ready to put the money on the table.”

Midway hopes that Warner Bros will match its overall target price of $30 million USD for the entire company, but is willing to sell off its IPs and studios separately if necessary.

People above must be most retarded ever seen post on this site. Good for midway, and warner, not only will save alot of jobs but will also be one less gaming publisher to fall to credit crunch. Not all titles can be AAA. As a gamer, the more variety in gaming the better.

@4 Just because they own it doesn't mean they'll keep making MK crossoevers with DC.
This could be good but only time will tell.

I'm all for Warner strengthening their portfolio. They may not be the best in the business, but they're far from the worst. I also back them because their studio was the deciding factor in blu-ray dominance. Have faith.
