The next DLC episode for Resident Evil 5, Desperate Escape, is heading to the PlayStation Network tomorrow. This DLC pairs Jill Valentine and Josh Stone in a new chapter to the RE5 story. The pair will work together to escape the Tricell facility under the darkness of night. You’ll fight unrelenting waves of enemies in heart pumping action, as Jill and Josh race to assist Chris and Sheva in their final bout with Albert Wesker.
You can also pick up new costumes for use in the RE5 campaign. Costumes will be visible during gameplay and cut scenes. Costume Pack 2 will include Chris Redfield’s “Heavy Metal” costume and Sheva Alomar in her new “Business” outfit.
If you pick up both DLC packs, you will get the remaining four of eight characters for The Mercenaries Reunion. Desperate Escape will include Rebecca Chambers and Josh Stone; while Costume pack 2 includes Chris and Sheva’s new costumes for the main storyline, and they will also be playable characters in The Mercenaries Reunion. All characters will have their own unique weapon load outs.
Check out or review of the first DLC, Lost in Nightmares, and look for our review of Desperate Escape soon. And, don’t forget that Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition will be available on March 9 for $49.99 USD, and it will include the original game plus all DLC content on a single Blu-ray disc.

Actually THIS time they actually got DLC right. Although they split it in two for reasons I'll never understand.
See originally they were trying to get by with "adding" things that they could have included. The multiplayer mode for 5 bucks that was nothing more than letting 2 more people join you in the multiplayer mercenaries games. basically you paid 65 bucks for a 60 dollar game.
But on the other hand, these New chapters are a lot more content than the multiplayer Mercs and they didnt annouce before the game even shipped. The size of the downloads also suggests they're more than just a patch to unlock things that are already on the disk. Now the only thing really wrong with these packs is that they dont include the new costumes by default, but that's minimal compared to the rip off they first leveled against us.
The Disc version onthe other hand feels like more of a rip off, because they're taking a game currently going for 35 bucks (and in some places less) and tacking on the $14 price of the DLC packs. Sure you're getting the Multiplayer pack for free but you shoulda got that for free in the first place.
But again this is much better than how they've been doing buisness before.
