LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 announced

Harry Potter and chums will be receiving the LEGO treatment again later this year in LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Traveller’s Tales have announced.

Due out in Q4 2011, Years 5-7 is based on the final three Potter books and final four movie adaptations, and features a heap of locations both new and old including Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade, Hogwarts, Grimmault Place and the Ministry of Magic.

Warner’s promising an action-packed adventure from start to finish, as well as a boatload of fresh spells, lessons and bonus content offering “hours of family friendly gaming.”

TT’s managing director, Tom Stone, commented, “In LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7, we are giving gamers a truly epic conclusion to the most successful movie franchise in history with delightful gameplay for fans of all ages.”

“We have built upon the first game and are giving fans even more magical abilities, puzzle solving and exploration, in addition to our distinctive brand of hilarious LEGO humour and charm.”

“LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 offers Harry Potter and LEGO fans an immersive experience that is fun and accessible for players of all ages,” enthused Samantha Ryan, Warner’s senior vice president of development and production. “With this game, TT Games captures everything fans love about the Harry Potter universe – and adds a distinct LEGO twist.”

Finally, LEGO CED’s executive vice president, Lisbeth Valther Pallesen, offered: “This game is a game of magic! LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 distils the drama and action of Harry Potter‘s magical world, and then gives players the chance to immerse themselves in their favourite characters and environments, where they can discover new adventures and have great fun.”

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 will be released for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, NGP, DS, 3DS, and Wii.
