Gaming bible Famitsu (via Andriasang) has revealed life-to-date sales for PlayStation Vita in its native Japan, confirming the platform has sold 790,633 since its inception in December 2011.

The handheld has now been on sale in the Land of the Rising Sun for six months.

In addition to hardware figures, the publication also unveiled the Top Ten best-selling PS Vita titles for Japan, with first place going to Persona 4: The Golden with 188,782 units sold.

Check out the full list below.

Global sales of Sony’s new pocket brick stood at 1.8 million as of March 2012. In June, PS Vita reached the 100,000 sales milestone in the U.K. after ten weeks on sale, though the number is less than a third of what PSP managed to achieve in the same time frame.

Despite concerns over PS Vita’s sales, Sony Computer Entertainment head honcho Kazuo Hirai has described its performance thus far as “a good start.”
