Skyrim: Dawnguard not scheduled for PS3, PC yet

Pete Hines, Vice President of Public Relations and Marketing, issued some bad news on his Twitter account in regards to the Dawnguard downloadble content for Elder Scrolls: Skyrim.
The post in question refers to the fact that Skyrim's upcoming DLC doesn't have planned release times, or official announcements for that matter, for the PlayStation 3 and PC versions of Skyrim. Specifically, Hines had this to say:
"We have not announced Dawnguard for any other platform, nor given a timeline for any such news. If we have news, I promise I'd tell you."
This may look like another Microsoft buyout, but Hines also had this to say in response to comments:
"I was simply stating that expecting/demanding something today is unfounded. Not that news is never coming."
Hopefully, this is simply a misunderstanding, and Dawnguard is still being developed for both PS3 and PC. We'll keep you updated as Hines and Bethesda release more information. Until then, speculate on what you think could be the cause. Does this change your mind to buy the DLC, or is Bethesda still bringing Dawnguard to PS3 and PC?

I already platinumed this game, but the DLC definitely looked great. It's unfortunate that this kind of stuff happens, but it's nice to know that Sony isn't willing to fork over money simply to ensure that it gets priority.
Also, it's weird that this timed-exclusive period doesn't include PC. Wouldn't cutting off PC sales hinder Windows as much as giving 360 the benefit from exclusivity?

i personally love skyrim, it is the first elder scrolls game ive played and im hooked, but when companies do things like this for money or just choose to not give certain DLC or things like that to game systems (like ps3 or pc), it makes me not even want to play the game AT ALL anymore.
it is now 30 days after dawnguard was realesed for xbox today, ive been checking playstation store EVERYday since it has been out on xbox, now not that it would make a difference, but if the DLC is not out by 12:00 TONIGHT for the other systems i will go to the pawn shop tomorrow morning 9:00 AM and sell my ps3 version and also my xbox version of skyrim, both in mint condition for five dollors each, which is what the shop will offer, and it will be fine with me. Thank You very much Bethesda.

It's OK with me. I love the game and just recently defeated Alduin! So, I've been taking my time. BTW, Mike Greene, When the DLC is coming they'll announce it. Here probably or on the PSN ad banner, so you don't have to "Keep checking" every day. And you might as well head out to the pawnshop now as I don't believe it's being released tonight because the store updates on Tuesdays usually. And when it does come out, whenever that is, I'll buy it and enjoy it and you can insert your principles into your PS3 and enjoy them at that time. Thank YOU very much Bethesda, for taking years to create an incredible living, breathing world for me to enjoy for hundreds of hours! And you know what? I'll gladly wait for the DLC as I'm sure it will be pretty cool.

Many people will not get the DLC if they release it within 1 week left of vacation. Me personally (if the rumors are true) if the release is until September:
1.) My desire for the DLC will banish
2.) Im going to college and wont toutch my ps3 until the semester s over.

All i would need is for bethesda to release it in august at the least
It shouldnt come out in september, as some of us will have to go back to school.
Let us enjoy it as part of the summer holiday that we get. It was ADVERTISED as a summer release, hold true to the promise

This is utter BUL**HIT! PS3 users don't EVEN have the latest patch let alone the DLC... It's honestly a joke. Main reason I got a PS3 was for Oblivion back in the day but I wish I had gotten an xbox now so I could already be playing Skyrim Dawnguard.

I agree.ive played most of Bethesda's products such as fallout, rage, brink and then to elder scrolls and I must say its the best one's yet.and their dlc has been worth the wait.so they definately have my Patience.and I don't get most people who go and rant on about how unfair and terrible their gameplay Is.i mean don't get me wrong the gameplay could use some improvement but their only human.their doing their very best to put out a game that is amazing in every way.Itll be a sad day if Bethesda game's go Xbox exclusive and those a**hole's who rant on about them will have no one else to blame but themselves.

i think its crap that the xbox gets everything handed to it on a silver plate while ps3 and pc gamers have to wait way longer

This just helps justify that Skyrim is the worse decision to buy on PS3 instead of 360 or PC.

I didn't mind the wait, but to hear that 1.7 won't be release for a couple weeks isn't reassuring. But, this also means that us PS3 users will get everything bug free.Thank YOU xbox users for being the bug testing guinea pigs. -

it only puts (another time) the power of money before the interest of people, we just have to fight this when we can : stop buying big name brands and buy a similar product cheaper, as a customer don't hesitate to call the boss in a big company to present your criticisms before other customers - especially if employees are treated badly or underpaid, read contracts (especially credit companies) with care to be able to show illegal clauses - possibly ask for help from a lawyer, there are ways to see some for free - or even better sign the contract and send them to court after ...
