Possible Crash Bandicoot leak for PS All-Stars

In the wake of last weekend's storm of leaks surrounding PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, one more (highly-requested) character might have just surfaced, courtesy of a photo discovered over on the official PlayStation forums.

User Alsborg91 spotted the following image on a Spanish-language forum, which seems to show the face of PSone platforming - none other than Crash Bandicoot - in all his orange fuzzy glory. The character model for this version of Crash appears to be a hybrid between the pixelated marsupial we know and love from the original PlayStation days and the modern version trumpeted by license owner Activions. Take a look for yourself.

The photograph certainly seems real enough, although we wouldn't rule out the possibility of an elaborate (and impressive) Photoshop hoax. After all, you can clearly see a dynamic shadow for Crash, as well as a charater thumbnail that seems in-line with others we've seen. Until confirmed by SuperBot Entertainment, however, this must be taken with a certain degree of salt. Who knows - maybe we'll hear more at gamescom?

For now, sound off in the comments and tell us if you're excited to play as Crash Bandicoot in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

Yeah looks legit, even if it isn't I don't think Universal would be so up themselves to not let Sony include him.

Every now and then I think about how great it would be if Sony had kept hold of the rights to Crash Bandicoot and Spyro...

It was never fully theirs to begin with, they sold the rights off to build new IPs that they would own 100%

I agree though, they should bring Crash back to Sony

but seriously I really do hope he makes it in, but the more you study the photo the more it looks fake, as pointed out by a forum member in the source (google translated):

    • The profile photo is not corrosponde to design in 3d crash
    • Nor has the same brightness and lighting that the other characters
    • Then there is the issue that are not at the same height as both Fat Princess Crash
    • If you look left arm and the right not the same size so it could be a design of multiple photos

Sony didn't sell off the rights Naughty Dog/Insomniac Games did to their respected titles

ND/Insomniac didn't have the rights, Sony and Universal did, Universal probably wanted them on the other consoles which Sony obviously didn't hence they sold them off.

Not to be that guy, but Activions should be Activision and gamescom should be capitalized. Otherwise, good article.
