The highly sought-after PlayStation 2 title Psychonauts is finally making its digital debut on the PlayStation 3 in next week's PlayStation Store update.

Since its PS2 debut in 2005, it's been a cult classic that's highly requested by fans for re-release. Chris Remo, Community Manager of Double Fine Production, responded in humorous fashion to fan requests for Psychonauts:

"But to truly become a PlayStation 2 Classic, we wanted to ensure Psychonauts had all the time it needed to grow into its status as a classic, like a fine artisanal Tuscan cheese. But less smelly."

Psychonauts was Double Fine's first title, and, much like Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, cult classics always find their way back into the hands of the players. Simply from the fanbase request alone, I myself am intrigued to pick this up next week. Let us know if you have set aside money for this very moment.

Nope. The Humble Indie Bundle V gifted me with Psychonauts for PC long ago.
