The latest installment in the storied Ratchet & Clank series - QForce - looks to be a return to form for the Lombax hero and his robot pal. By boiling the franchise formula down to what works - crate-smashing, bolt collecting, seriously bombastic weapons - Insomniac might end up delivering another legendary entry. Many of us won't find out until the game launches for PS3 and PS Vita later this fall, but PlayStation Plus members in Europe can catch an early glimpse right now.

The Ratchet & Clank: QForce beta kicked off at 4:00 PM GMT today in Europe, exclusive for PS Plus subscribers. If you hop into the beta during its limited run, you'll have access to a solo tutorial mode, competitive multiplayer featuring 1v1, 2v2, or Party 2v2 matches, and leaderboard rankings.

We don't yet know how long the beta will run for, so be sure to hop online and give it a go ASAP.
