Team Ninja, the developer behind franchises such as Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive, has confirmed that it will be lifting the wraps off a new project at the Tokyo Game Show this week.

No details were given, and all that we know is that it’ll be for ‘unspecified’ home consoles. Could it be a next-generation title or something a little closer to home and hit current platforms? We'll just have to wait and see.

Team Ninja is gearing up for the release of Dead or Alive 5, which hits stores next week for PS3 and Xbox 360. Early 2012 meanwhile saw the release of Ninja Gaiden 3, the first entry in the series without input from creator Tomonobu Itagaki.

Sony’s TGS presser kicks off at 5.00 a.m. BST Wednesday morning, so stay tuned to PSU.com for more details.
