2K Games today anounced that the hit turn-based strategy game XCOM: Enemy Unkown will receive some downloadable content.

It's not specified as to when, but the first of the two planned DLC packs is called the Slingshot Content Pack set to include a new line of Council missions. This DLC will take part in China while defending it from an alien invasion. Three new maps will come with the Slingshot Content pack as well as a unique story and more character customization options.

Official release dates or price points on the Slingshot Content Pack or the second DLC pack haven't been announced yet, but 2K Games has said that the Slingshot Content Pack will be out very soon.

The DLC is definitely a day one purchase for me. XCOM is awesome, but it really, really needs more  maps and tilesets!
