About Resistance 3

The war for humanity rages on in Resistance 3, the third chapter of Insomniac Games' sci-fi shooter series. Set in a brutal, alternate 1950s universe, America has been successfully conquered and destroyed by the deadly Chimeran race, forcing the last remaining human survivors to seek refuge in hiding. Players must take on the role of Joseph Capelli, the last surviving Sentinel from a clandestine military program, as he comes out of hiding to journey across a land of ruin in a heroic fight for survival against the merciless Chimera.

Third time is a charm as Insomniac unleashes a powerful and exciting campaign and then tops it off very nicely with a competitive and rewarding multiplayer component.

We like

  • Gripping narrative and likeable lead character
  • A varied weapon set that puts most shooters to shame
  • Streamlined multiplayer with rewarding progression system

We dislike

  • Co-op limited to friend's list and split-screen

If anyone knows how to create a weapon set to inspire and excite gamers, it’s Insomniac Games. With the brilliant Ratchet & Clank series and two Resistance games already behind it, the California-based developer has had plenty of practice at getting it right, and has proven that it has the creativity to think outside of convention to create some unique weapons. As a PlayStation 3 exclusive, Resistance 3 harnesse...

In many ways, Resistance 3 represents the best that Insomniac's shooter series has to offer - creative weapons, excellent level design, and a palpable sense of fear. We also enjoyed the franchise's first portable outing, Resistance: Burning Skies, giving it an 8.0. It comes as sad news, then, that t...
