Rumor: Dragon Age III coming to next-gen systems

The CV of EA Shanghai employee Tao Gu has seemingly outed plans to release the upcoming Dragon Age III on next-generation platforms.

Kotaku spotted the CV, which states that the “scope of the DAIII has been changed, which will target next gen platform and will be postpone [sic] to 2014.”

The report states that Gu, who serves as a level designer for the studio, contributed to the DAIII project earlier this year.

Kotaku goes on to speculate that the delay mentioned in the CV pertains to rumors of Dragon Age III being quietly punted out of a fiscal 2013 release into FY2014. This ties in neatly with EA’s official announcement of a late 2013 release.

Of course, the mention of next-generation systems is interesting, though it’s worth noting that EA has yet to confirm any platforms for the fantasy RPG sequel. It has been confirmed to utilize the Frostbite 2 engine, however.

EA has promised that Dragon Age III will feature "the storytelling legacy BioWare is known for, with deep RPG gameplay, all on a brand new RPG game engine underpinned by EA's critically-acclaimed Frostbite 2 technology".

Stay tuned for more details as we get them.
