Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII trailer

The first trailer for the third Final Fantasy XIII game, Lightning Returns, was released by Square Enix today. Here's your first look at the setting, Lightning's new costume design, and gameplay in action. The trailer confirms that this is final entry for Lightning's story.
The battle system has been tweaked for a more active combat style and simpler menus that can be controlled by using the D-pad or face buttons to select specific attacks. The story takes place in a town dominated by a strict religion. There is a 13 day countdown until the end of the world that is featured as a time limit element players will face in the game.

The graphics look great as well, i'm still not sure whether it's similar to Dirge of Cerberus in terms of gameplay, considering it's only her we're playing as! Looks pretty though.

I agree with Kajeto on this one. I felt that FF 13 wasn't as strong as FF X or FX-2. But yeah i really loved Kingdom Hearts and would love a 3 one to finish up the ps 2 version where it left off. And yes Versus looks epic to.

I just recently bought FF XIII-2, I haven't played much yet but from what i've seen in the last few years, with every game they launch, SE wanders even more far off from the game publishing company they used to be. Hopefully the bad image SE has created around them will go away with the so long awaited installments FF Versus and KH3
