Knack desperately wants to be the 3D platformers of old, but dull combat and a half-hearted story leave it difficult to recommend.

We like

  • Twitchy, old-school gameplay
  • Knack's shifting size
  • Pleasing visuals

We dislike

  • Poor story needlessly stretches game
  • Trial-and-error frustration
  • The cast of characters

Knack desperately wants to be like the Crash Bandicoots and Spyros of old, but it falls short in more than a few key areas. • Mark Cerny's voice is dreamy in Knack Conversations with Creators video
